3rdcategory | T-DNA translocator
Function | Component of the T4SS VirB/D4 required for the translocation of the virulence factors (VirE2, VirF and the VirD2-T-DNA complex) to plant cells. VirC1 is a component of a DNA transfer and replication (Dtr) protein. Together with VirC2, VirC1 stimulates relaxosome assembly at D-TNA border sequences. Independently of VirC2, VirC1 functions as a spatial determinant for the processed T-complex by recruiting the DNA substrate to the polarly localized T4S channel.
Miscellaneus | VirC1 belongs to the ParA/MinD ATPase superfamily.
